Common questions

How do I pair with my partner?
Open wherebae and sign in with Apple. On the pairing screen, share your 6-digit invite code with your partner (or enter theirs). Once one of you enters the other’s code, you’re connected and can see each other on the map.
Why isn’t my partner’s location updating?
Live location needs location permission set to “Always” and a working internet connection on your partner’s phone. Ask them to check that location is enabled for wherebae in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → wherebae, that sharing isn’t paused in the App, and that their phone isn’t in Low Power Mode for an extended period.
How do automatic “left/arrived” alerts work?
Set a Home and Work place in the App. wherebae uses your phone’s built-in region monitoring to detect when you cross the edge of a place and automatically tells your partner — even if the App is closed. For this to work reliably, location access must be set to “Always.”
How do I pause sharing or unpair?
You can pause location sharing at any time from inside the App. To end the connection entirely, use the unpair option in Settings — sharing stops immediately for both of you.
What is wherebae+ and how do I manage it?
wherebae+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription with extra features. It’s billed through your Apple ID. To view, change, or cancel it, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. See our subscription terms for details. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open Settings → Delete account in the App. This permanently erases your account and all associated data — your profile, pairing, places, location history, events, and subscription record. This can’t be undone. If you have an active subscription, remember to also cancel it in your Apple ID settings. For more, see our Privacy Policy.
Is my location private?
Yes. Your location is shared only with the single partner you pair with — never with other users, advertisers, or data brokers, and we never sell your data. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Which devices does wherebae support?
wherebae is an iPhone app. Both partners need an iPhone with a recent version of iOS and an Apple ID to sign in with Apple.
